Known in French (the official language of fencing) as the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime, this organization is the parent of all national governing bodies. It governs rules applied on the international field. Nothing to do here, unless you intend to compete at that level.
This site is very comprehensive and covers athletes, coaches, parents, referees, etc. The rule book, penalty chart and so much more can be found here. This is where you go to submit a membership application (competitive or non-competitive).

Our schools are members of this US Fencing sanctioned division which spans coast to coast more-or-less along the I4 corridor. The division is a local governing body representing several clubs and several hundred fencers. The state of Florida is comprised of three such divisions. No membership is required. This site serves to store the division's official documentation and notifications.
Nationwide, FRED is the preferred tool for setting up and publishing sanctioned tournaments, registering competitors and accepting payment. If you intend to compete, you will want a free account with FRED.

Absolute provides a range of economical club gear as well as national and international gear. They are based in New Jersey and are a frequent vendor at national and regional events. We work with ABF directly.
Leon Paul unquestionably makes high-quality gear that is ready for international competition. They are based in London, England with retail stores in several countries. While they also provide a more economical range, their stuff is pricy.
Triplette has been around forever and is based in North Carolina. They are a small company that provides some "Made in the USA" gear as well as other equipment that is ready for national competition. Price range varies considerably.
